Computer Presentations--My Ticket To The Big Time

I am not a computer-oriented person by any means. When I took my last computer course, all it involved was creating documents and learning how to use Microsoft Word. The year after that, the internet took over and all computer classes changed forever. Everywhere these days, you hear computer slang and even some movies and cartoons are geared toward the new computer generation. Even my ten year old cousin can create web pages. It seems that I was left in the dust.

Since then, I have learned to use the internet to contact my friends and loved ones by e-mail. I have also somewhat learned how to "surf the web" when I want to find out when my favorite band is touring. However, I knew that it wasn't enough. In a couple of years I will be out in the world trying to find my place. I'm not sure if that's at all possible without the knowledge of computers. So, here I am, ready and willing to learn (and hoping that I don't get too confused in the process). Hopefully I will leave this class with a little bit more of a clue than I came in with and I'll be able to catch up with the rest of the world.

And Now I'm Done--A Farewell To CSC 100

And so concludes my semester of "Computer Presentations". It was a lot more rough and chaotic (not to mention time consuming!) than I ever dreamed of. Still, I came out with a number of tricks that have already helped me in other classes. I am just learning how to use powerpoint to make television graphics and I feel that I am ahead of the game for once.

A lot of times I got really frazzled and discouraged but somehow with the help of my peers, I got everything done. I'm not sure I fully understand what I'm doing all of the time but at least I got things done. And now I am leaving with a heck of a lot more computer experience than I came in with.
